Last Week: The cursed immunity idol claimed another victim in Hunter.
39 26 Days, 18 People, 1 “Survivor” blog…
Alright, let’s check out where the tribe currently stands…
The NuiNui Tribe (wearing red)
Ben, 36 - Musician
Charlie, 26 - Law Student
Kenzie, 29 - Salon Owner
Liz, 35 - Marketing Strategist
Maria, 48 - Parent Coach
Q, 29 - Real Estate Agent
Tiffany, 33 - Artist
Venus, 24 - Data Analyst
Post-Tribal Shenanigans
As we hit camp, Liz lets us know that she is not pleased that she was left in the dark about the split vote. And she emphasizes this by saying “What the heck, you ho bags?”
That is some quality ‘90s slang. Maybe instead of Taylor Swift vs. Metallica, Ben and Charlie can do some “Yo Mama” jokes?
The rest of the tribe claims that the vote came together at the last minute and they already knew which way she was voting.
Q goes off to be by himself, but Maria sees him as a potential asset and reaches out to him. It seems like they’re willing to work together. Maria pinpoints Tiffany as her next target. Kenzie’s on board with this too because she and Tiffany have made all of the same moves and she needs to differentiate herself.
Reward Challenge Time: The players will race through a series of obstacles, then throw sandbags through a net tunnel. They’ll then crawl under another net and attempt to throw a sandbag onto a tall target. The first person to complete this will be Feelin’ Good in the Neighborhood as they’re getting an Applebees meal and an overnight stay at the Sanctuary.
This is a very big deal for Liz as she and her daughter have a weekly Applebees ritual.
Also, Probst takes half an hour describing all of the entrees. They need to put him in their commercials.
Result: Q wins the Applebees award. He’s allowed to choose people to go with him and he picks Tiffany because he wants to make it up to her. However, before he can choose anyone else, Liz literally starts begging.
C’mon…you just voted for him.
He chooses Maria next because she reached out to him the previous night. And finally, Q picks Kenzie over Liz in the hopes of getting Yanu back together.
This is tough to watch as Liz is visibly sobbing. When Probst asks how she feels, she loses it. She screams at Q because he eats everyday and because he blew up her game.
Wow…I don’t remember the last time I’ve ever seen anything like this outside of a confessional or maybe Tribal.
Q defends himself by pointing out that she voted for him last night and he made the best decision for his game. Which is a pretty logical explanation. Although, you could argue that taking her might be good for his social game.
She eventually comes back around and jokes that she didn’t scream that hard during her divorce.
At the Sanctuary
Apparently Tiffany and her friends make a weekly trip to Applebees as well just for the Spinach and Artichoke dip. Oh…I could be into that.
They’re so stuffed, none of them can eat the bourbon burger, which apparently is Liz’s go-to item.
When they get around to discussing strategy, it looks like Q wants a Yanu reunion tour with Charlie and Maria as the opening act.
Kenzie isn’t convinced though, and she was shocked that he picked her over a sobbing Liz.
At NuiNui Beach
Venus hilariously tries to put Liz at ease by saying that everyone has wanted to scream at Q at least once.
Liz again is frustrated not only because she can’t eat very many foods, but that it would make her feel closer to her daughter.
This begs the question; what is Q’s responsibility here? This is a game, right? Liz had a pretty good idea of the kinds of food available in the Fijian jungle.
Ben has her back, saying that Q is a villain. Maybe. But not because he didn’t pick Liz for reward.
Honestly, after Q won, I was wondering if he should take anyone on the reward. They all hate him. If his best bet is winning challenges, he shouldn’t be feeding them.
When the Applebee’s crew returns, they discuss the treats they enjoyed…and Liz is about to lose it. Especially when they mention that they were too full to eat her favorite burger.
Forget Probst, get Liz in an Applebees commercial.
Later on, Liz apologizes to Q for her outburst. But, she doesn’t mean it. She still wants him gone.
When Maria and Charlie get a chance to catch up, Maria tells Charlie that Tiffany and Kenzie still want Q gone. And the non-Applebee’s group wants Q gone as well.
Immunity Challenge Time: The players will hold onto a handle that’s connected to a bucket that holds 25% of their pre-game weight. The last person holding their handle wins immunity.
Rice Negotiation: Probst offers them rice in exchange for four sit-outs or two votes. The tribe isn’t going for it, so Probst offers individual servings of rice for anyone who steps out. Liz takes the deal.
Result: It comes down to Charlie vs. Tiffany with Charlie picking up his second straight immunity victory.
Before we leave, Charlie tells us about how he realized grip strength is very important in “Survivor” challenges. So, he’s been working out his forearms for years. Smarty.
Pre-Tribal Politicking
Tiffany starts things off by telling us that she’s so confident that Q is going home, that she’s not even going to bother playing her idol.
Umm…
CUT TO: Kenzie and Maria discussing voting for Tiffany. However, it seems like Kenzie is getting cold feet.
So, Maria shifts her attention to getting Q on board with the plan.
What we end up with is Maria, Ben, Charlie, and Q targeting Tiffany. They don’t want to bring Kenzie into it, so they have to decide between Liz and Venus. And it’s very telling how they feel about Venus, that they’d rather trust Liz to work with Q over her.
So, this leaves Liz with the dilemma of blindsiding someone who has an idol or getting revenge for Burger-gate.
Tribal Time
Everyone is pretty sure that Q is going home, with Q hoping four people will jump on board his mystery plan.
Voting Time: Venus votes for Q, Q votes for Tiffany, and the rest of the votes are secret.
JPro tallies and returns. He asks if anyone wants to play an idol or and advantage and…nobody does.
We’ve got one vote for Q, one vote for Tiffany, two votes for Q, three votes for Tiffany, and the eleventh person eliminated from “Survivor 46” is…Tiffany.
Verdict: Welp, it’s official. Idols are cursed.
Power Rankings Results: Drew and Frannie both called it with Tiffany in spot eight. So, the current score is Reba 4 (-Dee, +Kellie) 116, Gordon’s All Stars 106.
A: Maria - She got her move without having to share credit with Kenzie. That’s a big win.
A-: Charlie - Likable Charlie the challenge beast? That’s a winner. That’s also a target.
C+: Ben - I love me some Ben, but I just can’t see him winning this thing.
C+: Kenzie - Maria making that move without her help isn’t going to be good for Kenzie’s resume.
C: Liz - I think she eventually made the right move, but I’m not sure the jury respects her game.
C: Q - I think he’s crossed over to someone people are going to keep around because he won’t have a chance with the jury.
F: Venus - What does it tell you about how everyone feels about Venus that they chose to bring Liz into this vote over her?
Welp, that’s it! Check out my exit interview with Tiffany on YouTube tomorrow. And, don’t miss the “Survivor” Power Rankings this Monday.
