Last Week: The cursed immunity idol claimed another victim in Hunter Tiffany.
39 26 Days, 18 People, 1 “Survivor” blog…
Alright, let’s check out where the tribe currently stands…
The NuiNui Tribe (wearing red)
Ben, 36 - Musician
Charlie, 26 - Law Student
Kenzie, 29 - Salon Owner
Liz, 35 - Marketing Strategist
Maria, 48 - Parent Coach
Q, 29 - Real Estate Agent
Venus, 24 - Data Analyst
Post-Tribal Shenanigans
Kenzie is not happy about being left out of the vote, saying she would have happily voted for Tiff. And once again, it’s all about who gets the credit.
Charlie lends a shoulder to cry on, and tells Kenzie that it was all Maria’s idea. Which, is the first time we’ve seen him break from Maria. It won’t be the last.
Venus also uses this as an opportunity to get close to Kenzie, pointing out that they got rid of a major threat and now Maria has a big target on her back.
Meanwhile, Maria is hoping to create a final five out of the people who voted for Tiffany, leaving Venus and Kenzie on the outs.
The following morning, the idol hunt is on. And…Venus finds the clue! Ooh…and instead of running off to read it, she makes the decision to keep searching with the group. Well done.
When she finally gets a chance to read the clue, she’s surprised to learn it’s just an actual idol. Lucky her!
Later on, as Charlie and Maria are discussing strategy, Charlie lets us know that he wants Q to go home next because he’s worried that Maria has him in her pocket.
There’s a lot of pre-challenge voting talk, with Liz telling Kenzie that Maria is too big of a threat. Venus, is of course on board with that vote. And, Charlie is considering it as well.
Immunity Challenge Time: The players will place a ball on a pole and walk it over obstacles. They’ll keep adding sections to the pole as they go along. The first person to maneuver two balls through a track will win immunity and a pizza delivery.
Result: Wow…everything evens out at the track portion. It’s super tense and Maria picks up the win!
Maria is allowed to choose people to share her pizza, so she says she wants to feed people who haven’t eaten and picks Ben. Charlie takes himself out of the running, because he thinks others need it more.
Then Maria asks Venus, Liz, and Q to make a case for getting pizza.
This feels worse than just picking someone.
Venus and Q are both comfortable with Maria making a decision and Liz would like to eat for obvious reasons.
Probst points out that this decision has never taken so long before.
Eventually, Maria asks Liz and Q to do rock/paper/scissors for the food…which Q wins.
Yikes…that was weird. And kind of a bad look for Maria.
Pizza Party
Q immediately owns the fact that he shouldn’t be at the reward because he just ate. But, he does’t feel guilty because it’s a game.
The trio discusses getting rid of Venus because she came very close to winning the immunity challenge.
Pre-Tribal Politicking
Yeah, everyone is annoyed at Maria for how she chose her pizza buddies. And, the final decision just shows how close she is with Q.
Charlie makes the point that Q must be Maria’s number one. So, he should be the vote.
Maria tries to make peace with Liz, but Liz can’t believe that Maria is so close to Q. Maria makes the point that Q is one of the few people who talks to her.
It looks like it’s coming down to Maria, Ben, and Q voting for Venus, Kenzie, Liz, and Venus voting for Q, and Charlie in the middle.
As Venus tries to get Charlie on board, she tells him that she has something up her sleeve.
Uh oh…
She refuses to say what it is, but tells Charlie she’ll give him the details when Q is gone.
Tribal Time
Instead of popcorn, Probst gives the tribe a single piece of licorice. Is this some angle to try to get a Twizzler endorsement?
Venus gives Maria some heat for taking Q to the meal after saying she wanted to feed someone who hadn’t eaten in a while.
Liz is frustrated because she feels like she can’t trust anyone. Well…that’s the game.
Q then goes on a rant that you can never say a name to Venus because she’ll run and blow up your spot.
Voting Time: Venus votes for Q, Q votes for Venus, and the rest of the votes are lost to the magic of editing.
JPro tallies and returns. He asks if anyone wants to play an idol or an advantage and…nobody does. We’ve got one vote for Q, one vote for Venus, one vote for Kenzie, two votes for Venus, and the twelfth person eliminated from “Survivor 46” is…Venus.
Verdict: Say it with me…IDOLS ARE CURSED!
Power Rankings Results: Welp, I blew it. Julie Alley had Venus in spot five while I had her in spot one. So, the current score is Reba 4 (-Dee, +Kellie) 121, Gordon’s All Stars 107.
A: Charlie - What can you even say? He has all the options, he’s likable, he has a solid resume. He’s the guy to beat.
B: Ben - He can still win this. If he gets to the end with the right combo, his likability could get him over the finish line.
B: Kenzie - She didn’t fully get revenge for being left out of the vote, but she’s swinging.
B-: Q - Hate on Q all day long, but at least he used his reward for his own means. Maria’s was a trainwreck.
C+: Liz - What’s her argument for a win? She made a few moves, she lost every challenge, she napped while others were looking for idols?
C-: Maria - That reward pick-em was one of the worst unforced errors I’ve ever seen on this show. And people have literally given away cars before.
